What about backyard eggs?

THE VEGAN HAS ENTERED THE CHAT.

This deserves more than a factory-farm copy-paste.

A rescued hen living a good life in your backyard isn’t the same as a giant egg factory. Fair. Context matters. There are still some honest questions. Where did the hens come from? Buying chicks supports hatcheries that often throw away the male chicks. What happens when the hens stop laying? And does their health come first, or the eggs? People who care about animals answer these differently, and no study settles it. A better setup fixes a lot of problems. It doesn’t automatically answer the bigger question of whether we should use animals for food at all.

THE KEY DISTINCTION

Happy hens solve some problems, not every question.
