What’s wrong with eggs and dairy?
THE VEGAN HAS ENTERED THE CHAT.
The carton doesn’t tell the whole story.
Eggs and dairy aren’t the same as meat, but they aren’t automatically harmless either. Cows have to keep having calves to keep making milk. Most male chicks in the egg industry aren’t kept. And animals that stop producing don’t usually retire to a farm sanctuary. Practices vary, and we won’t claim to know your local farm without evidence. Some people want better treatment. Others question using animals at all. Those are different views. You can get calcium and protein elsewhere with a bit of planning. And words like “local” or “humane” are a good starting question, not the final answer.
THE KEY DISTINCTION
No killing on the label doesn’t mean no questions in the barn.
