Isn’t soy bad for you?
THE VEGAN HAS ENTERED THE CHAT.
Tofu has a surprisingly bad publicist.
“Soy” covers a lot of things. A block of tofu, a glass of soy milk and a concentrated soy pill are not the same thing. Scary headlines often mix them up. The NIH’s health research center (NCCIH) has reviewed soy. Its findings don’t support treating normal soy foods as dangerous. They also don’t back wild promises about soy supplements. Soy allergies are real, though. And if you just don’t like soy? No problem. You don’t need it to be vegan. Beans, lentils, nuts and seeds have you covered.
THE KEY DISTINCTION
Tofu isn’t a soy pill. Ordinary soy foods aren’t the villain.
