Animals are raised to be eaten.
THE VEGAN HAS ENTERED THE CHAT.
Writing the job description doesn’t make the job okay.
Yes, these animals were bred to be food. But that’s a decision people made. Saying “they exist for food” just repeats the practice we’re asking about. It doesn’t defend it. Think about it this way: if you bring someone into the world, you usually take on more responsibility for them, not less. Farms aren’t all the same. Some people focus on better treatment. Others question using animals at all. Those are different views. And if your argument is “they get a good life they wouldn’t otherwise have,” fair enough. Let’s talk about what their lives are actually like.
THE KEY DISTINCTION
Deciding what an animal is “for” doesn’t make it right.
