One person won’t change anything.

THE VEGAN HAS ENTERED THE CHAT.

One vote doesn’t run a country either. People still vote.

True: your dinner tonight won’t shut down a farm. But stores and companies respond to what lots of people buy over time. Your choices are part of that total, like one drop in a bucket that is very much filling up. We won’t pretend to know exactly how many animals one person spares. Nobody can say that honestly. But the IPCC, the world’s leading climate science group, lists changes in diet as one real way to cut emissions. Personal choices also work alongside bigger changes, like better policies and what schools and hospitals serve. It’s not either/or.

THE KEY DISTINCTION

“Not enough on its own” isn’t the same as “pointless.”
