Veganism is elitist.

THE VEGAN HAS ENTERED THE CHAT.

The influencer smoothie bowl is not our spokesperson.

Some vegan messaging really can feel elitist. It sometimes ignores money, location, disability, time or culture. That criticism is worth hearing. But caring about animals or the planet isn’t just for rich people. Beans and rice aren’t a luxury item. The problem is usually the marketing, not the idea. If someone tells you to buy an expensive replacement without knowing your situation, push back. Then let’s look at what affordable, familiar options actually exist for you. We won’t claim vegan is cheaper or easy for everyone everywhere.

THE KEY DISTINCTION
