Eating meat is my personal choice.
THE VEGAN HAS ENTERED THE CHAT.
It is your choice. That’s why we’re talking about it.
Freedom matters. But calling something a personal choice doesn’t mean it only affects you. Food involves animals, farm workers, land and the planet. We talk about personal choices with wider effects all the time, like driving or smoking, without denying people get to make them. We can’t scientifically prove one correct answer about values. What we can do is share the evidence and ask for a reason that holds up. You’re free to disagree. But “it’s my choice” only tells us who decides. It doesn’t tell us whether it’s a good decision.
THE KEY DISTINCTION
Choice tells us who decides, not whether it’s right.
